Inter-tidal drainage channels on Mariners Island

The Vancouver Island Conservation Land Management Programme has been a Key Partner of CERCA for the clean-up and conservation management of Mariners Island Salt Marsh. Under this agreement the summer crew of this Programme visited Mariners Island on May 27 in order to start the cleaning of the inter-tidal runnels and pools which had not been accessible by the excavator used for the log removal. It will take the crew of three -summer students from UVIC's Geography Department- about four days to rehabilitate the channels.
