Cowichan Bay Vee Road Subdivision Drainage Issues

IMG_0093

Ill planned drainage infrastructure and disagreements over jurisdiction has resulted in sediment runoff from the new development project in upper Cowichan Bay ending up in the Estuary as seen here:This occured on February 5th following the heavy rains.Sediment runoff such as this causes impacts on the health of the sensitive estuary ecosystem as well as issues for homes and other infrastructure below the development.Additional photos and information can be seen on Richard Hughes' blog HERE: http://richardhughes.ca/cvrd-2/update-controversial-cowichan-bay-sub-division-proceeded-while-province-and-cvrd-differ-of-jurisdiction-and-authority/
